The Lincoln Lawyer 2 Everything We Know

Everything We Know About Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer

The Lincoln Lawyer 2 The crime drama focuses on Los-Angeles defense lawyer Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), who runs his legal practice from the back of his Lincoln town car – naturally the car’s number plate reads NTGUILTY. Season one saw Mickey taking on the case of a video game billionaire, Trevor Elliot (Christopher Gorham), who is accused of murdering his wife and her boyfriend after he discovers their bodies. This season was full of twists, legal jargon and a whole lot of comedic anecdotes.

The Netflix show is quickly becoming one of the platform’s biggest hits, and I’m sure like all of us, you’re wondering just when you can expect season two to drop. Here’s everything we know about what the future could mean for The Lincoln Lawyer.

With the release of the new legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix, fans of the Lincoln Lawyer film and book series may recognize the title and plot of this new legal drama. Is the new Mickey Haller tale going to continue? Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer has been confirmed.

What’s The Story With The Lincoln Lawyer?

Due to a severe car accident and a pharmaceutical addiction, Mickey Haller has been out of work for the last year.

The Lincoln Lawyer 2

The Lincoln Lawyer 2 When he was shot dead in a parking lot, Mickey was startled to hear that Jerry had given him the keys to his legal firm (and all the cases he was working on). Trevor Elliott, a rising star in video game development, is perhaps the most renowned of these cases.

As Mickey with the murders of his wife and her lover, he rushes to uncover the truth, particularly when it becomes apparent that the same ominous forces who murdered Jerry may be after him.

The Lincoln Lawyer 2 Release date

If Netflix approves a second season of The Lincoln Lawyer, don’t anticipate a lengthy break between episodes. By the end of 2022, the cast and crew might return to shooting a new season for a release in the following year.

A second season may be released as early as April 2023, but it’s more probable that it will be in May 2023. Even if the season isn’t released until summer 2023, we shouldn’t have to wait more than a year for Mickey to make another screen appearance.

Is The Lincoln Lawyer Returning For A Second Season?

We’ll have to wait and see how the debut does before Netflix makes a judgment on season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer, even if there’s plenty of material. We’re anticipating big things from this concert, for sure.

Netflix usually announces renewal choices one month following the premiere of a new season or series. However, the streaming service has recently prolonged the waiting time up to three months or more, and season 2 should be before the end of the summer.

In recent years, Harry Bosch has had the most prominent role in adaptations of Michael Connelly’s works, thanks to the Amazon Prime Video series Bosch. Conversely, Mickey Haller hasn’t appeared in a film since Matthew McConaughey’s 2011 feature The Lincoln Lawyer.

A new Netflix series, The Lincoln Lawyer, adapt Connelly’s book The Brass Verdict, and he’ll be back in the limelight.

The Cast Of Lincoln Lawyer

That may introduce new characters and cast members in each new season of The Lincoln Lawyer, a procedural yet serialized legal drama. These key regulars, though, are expected to remain:

  • Mickey Haller in Mickey Garcia-Rulfo
  • Neve Campbell plays Maggie McPherson.
  • In the role of Lorna, Becki Newton
  • In the part of Izzy, Jazz Raycole
  • Angus Sampson portrays Cisco.
  • Krista Warner portrays Hayley Haller in this film adaptation.

He co-starred with Mickey as millionaire Trevor Elliott in season one, although he is unlikely to return for season two.

In The Lincoln Lawyer, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo plays defense attorney Mickey Haller, regaining his footing after personal failures. It’s a high-profile murder case that he takes on as soon as he gets back to work.

Is There Going To Be A Season Two?

Yes. Netflix has announced they will be renewing the hit series for season two, which will consist of 10 episodes – just like the last season. This comes as no surprise given the popularity the show got on its first weekend. Despite having dropped on May 13, the show was already trailing just behind Ozark as the number two English language show on Netflix between May 9- 15. That means it only had two days to climb up to that ranking. Based on that information alone, it’s no wonder Netflix was eager to renew.

What Will Season Two Focus On?

The show was adapted from a book series of the same name by Michael Connelly with season one following the plot line from from the second book in the series, “The Brass Verdict.” For season two, however, we are set to see an adaptation of the series’ fifth book “The Fifth Witness,” which will focus mainly on the case of Mickey Haller defending a client who is accused of killing the banker she blames for trying to take away her home.

The book series currently holds six books and Netflix doesn’t appear to be following the order of the books. But even then, we should maybe turn to the books for a general gist of the story as opposed to an accurate play by play. Already in season one, many details were changed from the original text. Gorham, who plays Trevor spoke about how his character was initially supposed to be called Walter Elliot, and saw a bit of a face-lift when the book was turned into the Netflix show.

“He’s like a film producer,” he said, “It’s one of the ways in which they updated the storytelling, since the book has been out for quite a while.”

Based on this, it’ll be interesting to see what details Netflix changes in the adaptation of the next Connelly book. Alongside the plot-lines from the book, however, given the ending to the first season, we can probably expect to dig deeper into questions and storylines that will seemingly be entwined across future seasons – mainly “who the hell is that guy with the tattoo?”

When Can We Expect Season Two?

Unfortunately, this we can’t say for sure given that the new season was only just announced. But, taking into consideration Netflix’s rollout for past shows and the time it takes to film and release a new season, we’re looking at the earliest date being one in 2023.
